Benedict’s hide is finished and ready to find his forever home!
Benedict was an Icelandic lamb born and raised on a nearby farm. I had the honour of tanning his hide as well as a few others lambs from the flock, and I’m super grateful for that opportunity. Not only was he able to provide meat for tables, I was also able to honour his life through tanning his hide.
Benedict is 33 inches long, 23 inches wide, with locks averaging 8 inches. His hide was tanned traditionally by me here on the farm with the use of egg yolks from my sisters chickens and smoke to set the tan.
Please expect a small amount of vegetable matter to be in the sheepskin as I can’t remove each tiny piece, as well as a slight smoke smell which will go away with some time.
Shipping available throughout Canada and the US :)
